"Powerless" was officially remixed once, with it being done by Enferno. It probably took 9 months or even a year before the song was actually done. It was too long, so months later we chopped it down to size. It was a really old demo, TINFOIL is the intro of it, and it turned into this epic 6 minute long thing, but it was kind of boring. The original version of the song was very different than the version released on Living Things, as revealed by Mike Shinoda, when he said " Took the longest to write. "Powerless" was initially started during the A Thousand Suns sessions, like " I'll Be Gone", but wasn't finished until the band started writing for Living Things. 4.1 Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Trailer.On the booklet and back cover of Living Things, dots were used to mark the number of each track, but "Powerless" has 13 dots instead of 12. Although the song wasn't released as an official single, it received a digital single release in Japan on October 31, 2012, and a music video which served as a trailer of the film "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." " Tinfoil" and "Powerless" were originally the same song, but they were later split into two separate tracks. "Powerless" is the twelfth track on the album Living Things. The video shows Linkin Park performing POWERLESS in between shots of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and footage from the LIVING THINGS movie event that will be in select US theaters on June 25th. This doesn't confirm POWERLESS will be the next single by any means, as it seems this performance video is simply a great way to get Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Linkin Park some joint promotion with their respective releases just around the corner, but we'll keep you updated as to any information on that when we know.

Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the movie tweeted about working with Linkin Park in Berlin earlier this month to film a video, which up until this point was unknown as to what it was exactly but can now be confirmed as a performance video for the featured song. As reported earlier this week, Linkin Park's close-out track "POWERLESS", taken from their new album LIVING THINGS due for release on June 26th, will be featured in the end credits for the movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter which opens in theaters on June 20th / 22nd.
